Being that it is 0 degrees out, yes, literally ZERO degrees out, you read that correctly. I think I can hear my Florida friends laughing at me from here. One of my dogs straight up refused to go outside this morning, and I totally don't blame him.
Anyway I'm trying to uphold my New Year's resolution of being better at updating my websites. When I walked in to my office my screen saver was on this photo, so I'm taking you back to warmer summer days!
We moved to New York last spring. We both decided it would be nice to have seasons, and raise Kennedy around family. One great thing about the Hudson Valley is there is no shortage of farms! Every weekend we found ourselves at a different farm, picking our own fruits and vegetables! Kennedy goes thru an entire $8 carton of organic strawberries every 24 hours, so I am seriously missing this right now! LOL!
These photos are from a lazy August day at Ochs Orchard in Warwick, New York. Funny story about the last photo, we were picking some monstrous looking raspberries, and kept commenting on how weird looking they were ...we later discovered we had picked an entire basket of unripened blackberries. #cityslickers
Don't worry we know these little guys are blueberries ;) ...I hope. We let the baby berry critic taste test them. And I may or may not have individually peeled the skin off each blueberry I gave her. You know, to prevent choking ...and excessive chemicals from entering her body. #FirstTimeMomMuch? Thankfully my husband doesn't question my craziness too often. Also, might I add he is a champ at carrying her ...and other assorted heavy items. Most of the orchards in Warwick Valley are stroller friendly ...but can be hard to navigate once you fill them with the 50lbs of apples and 90lbs of squash you deemed necessary. Oh, and word to the wise you probably shouldn't wear flip flops.
See ya in June ...FARMS! It's cherry season, dontchyaknow! PS - Lazy farm days would make for a great lifestyle shoot! Perfect for active couples or families who don't love posing for pictures! Send me a message if you are interested in having me stalk you around a farm this summer! ...or ice cream shop! LOL!
